  • The iron strong directorial debut of Harris Dickinson.

In this iron strong directorial debut of Harris Dickinson (Babygirl, Triangle of Sadness), homeless drug addict Mike (Frank Dillane) tries to get his life back on track after a stint in prison. He finds work, a roof over his head, and even a tentative new relationship. Mike longs for peace and stability, but on the streets of London, a misstep is always lurking. The hopeful yet self-destructive Mike not only confronts his own limits but also a system that repeatedly lets him down.

Harris Dickinson, who directs as well as plays a role, sketches in Urchin a raw and gripping character study, balancing between social realism and dark absurdity. The film premiered worldwide in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, where Frank Dillane broke through with the Best Actor award and Harris Dickinson was honored with the prestigious FIPRESCI prize for Direction.
