Song Sung Blue

Somewhere in the mid-90s, Mike (Hugh Jackman), a single father and Vietnam veteran from Milwaukee, meets single mother Claire (Kate Hudson). Both have faced significant hardships in their lives. They share a passion for music, but writing their own songs proves difficult. Mike is a huge fan of singer Neil Diamond, the man behind worldwide hits like 'Sweet Caroline', 'Beautiful Noise', and 'I Am… I Said'. He persuades Claire to start a Neil Diamond cover band. Soon, the two fall madly in love and achieve success with their energetic live performances. But a personal tragedy threatens to shatter their budding happiness.

Song Sung Blue is based on a 2008 documentary of the same name that tells the equally inspiring and tragic life story of Mike and Claire Sardina and their band Lightning & Thunder.
