The Shining (45th Anniversary)

Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece The Shining is 45 years old and to celebrate, the film is temporarily returning to Dutch cinemas. In a beautiful 4K restoration. 

Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall star in Kubrick’s adaptation of Stephen King’s terrifying horror bestseller. Writer and former alcoholic Jack Torrance (Nicholson) takes a job as the winter caretaker of a hotel high in the Rocky Mountains. Together with his wife (Duvall) and their clairvoyant son, he lives cut off from the world until spring. But when the only road to the village is snowed in, Jack begins to slowly lose his mind to malicious forces from the past that have taken possession of the hotel. Will his family be able to escape in this chilling tale of madness, memory, and violence?
