Many clothes are discarded in large numbers, but why can you not part with some clothing?
What makes you cherish even the pieces that no longer fit, and why do you keep repairing others when they are damaged? Does greater connection with our clothing lead to less (over)consumption?
For 'Attached', Overlap is looking for clothing and the personal stories behind it. We want to explore together what value we assign to what we have. Join us on October 1 and make your clothing part of this collective work.
From October 1 to 11, a growing installation will be on display in the reading room, featuring examples of clothing items and associated stories. During this same period, visitors can add their own clothing with a story to the installation. All the items together provide an idea of how we can reconnect with the clothes we wear, and what gives our clothing that added value. On Sunday afternoon, October 11, there will be a talk to conclude 'Attached', where visitors will discuss this topic with each other. Everyone who wants to attend is warmly welcome!
