The DOUBLET exhibition series showcases the work of two contemporary artists simultaneously. Concordia aims to explore how these artists relate to each other and what they can show and tell us through both the differences and similarities in their work. On Sunday, June 4, we will open the fourth exhibition in this series, where you can become acquainted with the exciting and multifaceted work of Inge Meijer and Malte Bruns.
Inge Meijer
Inge Meijer explores the relationship between people and their environment, creating surreal scenes that seem both normal and logical, and raising questions about the influence of the environment on our sense of being.
Inge Meijer is an artist who works with various media and recently published a study on houseplants in art museums. Her exhibition at Concordia includes films, photographs, and slides that explore the relationship between humans and nature.
Malte Bruns
Malte creates installations with shiny plastic sculptures on luxurious pedestals. Although the sculptures resemble human body parts, color combinations and materials cause confusion and reveal a different meaning.
Malte's work explores the boundaries of human malleability and ethical awareness. His installations create a pleasant confusion, in which detached body parts seem to lead an autonomous life and generate new thoughts about bodily function and machine consciousness.
