DOUBLET pairs two artists who differ in their working methods, themes or use of materials, but who do share a certain starting point. This edition Peggy Franck and Christine Moldrickx combine their works in an in situ installation in our main hall.
The artists
Peggy Franck and Christine Moldrickx present their work together in a site-specific installation. Both artists work with the concept of looking and seeing, with meanings shifting by choosing a different perspective or simply wanting and being able to see things in a different way.
Doublet
In tandem with the visitors and the artists, we, as an art space, want to investigate what happens when artworks that seem to have nothing in common – that do not link to the same movement, do not share a cultural background, do not pursue the same ideas about art or about life – are shown together and enter into conversation with each other. What does the combination do to the way in which visitors see the works and engage with them? How does it affect the visitors knowledge, are ideas challenged or is looking in this curatorial perspective, about something else?
