This short film depicts the digital afterlife of the failed 2011 Egyptian revolution. From a position of exile and unresolved mourning, it portrays a society suspended between the revolutionary promise and the machinery of authoritarian myth-making, where propaganda, performance, and fantasy merge into a single hyper-real political spectacle. Across five intersecting online-found archives, the athletic male body emerges as a central instrument of political mythology: a seductive image of the state as strong, protective, and invincible, propelling an ideal of conservative and ultimately toxic masculinity. The film traces how propaganda does more than manufacture consent: it transforms violence into spectacle, trauma into fantasy, and repression into desire.
