The immersive installation Immer de Ander by the Twente Art Alliance establishes a dialogue between the visitor and the artwork.

At the Twente Art Alliance (TKA) are young makers from the generation for whom having a hybrid mentality and switching between different roles and functions comes naturally.

They experience the consequences of an increasingly technological society like no one else. From the growing isolation and loneliness this brings, to living in their own bubble.

"As an artist/maker, you are often also within an artist bubble, but the awareness of this drives the search for connection. The arts can show and transform this condition, giving it meaning. We want the lonely person in a digital, technological world to be visible as a product of that world. We achieve this by seeking each other through the arts. Art can reach people, and through TKA’s performances, we use all the means at our disposal to seek connection with each other and with our audience. We continue to seek each other through the arts, continue to play, in a way that aligns with what is happening around us."

The Twente Art Alliance (TKA) originated from the desire to make theatre and to bring together the disciplines represented in Enschede, music and visual arts, respectively AKI and the Conservatory to collaborate. This is done by experimenting and working together on stage, leading to fresh ideas and new ways of working. Since there is no theatre education in Enschede, there is little existing infrastructure for new, experimental groups. TKA creates a space where makers can meet, where musicians and visual artists can explore theatre-making. As a result, performances are regularly staged that are easily accessible.
