After Fransje Hermans ends up in a wheelchair due to a bizarre accident, he seems doomed to spend his days in the slow village of Lomark. The accident leaves him unable to move or speak, and, aside from one functional arm, his life appears hopeless. However, things change when the charismatic and reckless newcomer Joe Speedboot arrives and forms an unlikely friendship with Fransje. Will Joe help Fransje realize his passionate dreams, satisfy his longing for the enchanting PJ, or is he merely the next project for adventure-hungry Joe?
