In this magical story, 13-year-old Kiki moves with her talking cat Jiji to a seaside town to spend a year alone, in accordance with her village's tradition for witches in training. After she learns to control her broomstick, Kiki starts a flying courier service and quickly becomes well-known in the community. But when the insecure young witch starts to doubt herself and loses her magical powers, she must overcome her doubts to regain her abilities.
