AKI and Concordia are joining forces in the special project Pavilion. The art space functions as a place for AKI Fine Art students to step outside the safe walls of the academy, to experiment, and to present their ideas and research. It is a project in which students align their work with the physical space and learn how presentation and context influence not only how they view their own work but also how the audience experiences it.
The exhibition titled Motiongraphy presents a series of works that explore the possibilities between “still” video and moving photography. Within this framework, students investigate personal themes, questions, memories, and interests. The result is a collection of projections, prints, and installations that, in various ways, push the boundaries of film and photography, playing with the experience of physical space and the perception of time.
