  • On Saturday, November 7, 2026, Museum Night Enschede is back, and you won't want to miss this edition.

    Museum Night Enschede

The Museum Night Enschede is an evening where the city transforms into a living work of art. As soon as the sun sets, museums, studios, creative incubators, and cultural institutions open their doors to take you into a world full of surprise, imagination, and encounter.

You wander through buildings you may already know, but in the dark, they acquire a completely new energy. Art feels closer, music sounds more intense, and in every space, you discover something unexpected.

Museum Night Enschede is for everyone! Whether you're an art expert, dreamer, adventurer, or just curious. You enter with a simple wristband, but you step out with new impressions that linger.

    Program Old Market

Concordia transforms into the Grand Budapest Hotel for one evening!
Step into a world that feels like it came straight out of a film, and indeed from a Wes Anderson film. Think soft pastel colors, velvet accents, and a touch of nostalgic elegance. It will be an environment that invites you to pause, look better, and immerse yourself in another world, somewhere between reality and fantasy.

Workshop: Create Your Wes Anderson Character
    Times: 19:00 - 23:30 | Location Salon 3
Design your own film character and bring it to life in an environment from one of the Wes Anderson films! Create a character or color in an existing one, and witness how we transform it into a dancing animation with AI. Your swinging creation will be immediately visible on the big screen with all its friends.

Film Lecture: Wes Anderson by Sjaak Christenhusz
    Times: 20:00 - 20:20, 21:00 - 21:20, 22:00 - 22:20 | Location Theater Room
Learn more about the world of Wes Anderson during our mini film lectures.

What makes Wes Anderson's films have such a unique and quirky style? What are typical characteristic elements, from composition and color palettes to eccentric storytelling and characteristic characters? During these mini lectures, we will pause to consider how Anderson developed his unique style and how it is reflected in his films.

The mini film lecture provides an accessible way to learn about film language and visual storytelling and is fun for everyone, whether you are a seasoned film lover or not!

    The Fantastic Mr. Fox Hunt
    Times: 19:00 - 23:00 | Outside
The characters have left the hotel and are now wandering through the city. Pick up a stamp card at the Old Market and go in search of these Wes Anderson characters. If you find one, you get a stamp. Return your filled stamp card to Concordia for a chance to win two free tickets for a movie of your choice.

    Photo Spot
    Times: 19:00 - 00:00 | Old Market 15
A lasting memory of this Wes Anderson experience?

We have transformed a spot at the Old Market into a real location from one of the films, so bring some props and take a photo alone or with your friends to capture this lasting memory.

The photo spot is the perfect place to capture your memories of this evening. Not just a snapshot, but a small, carefully composed moment that you take home with you — as if you were part of a film.

    Wes Anderson Shorts
    Times: 19:30 - 19:50; 20:30 - 20:50, 21:30 - 21:50; 22:30 - 22:50 | Theater Room
Allow yourself to be swept away by the recognizable, quirky world of Wes Anderson. In the reading room, we will showcase a selection of short films where you can immediately recognize his characteristic style. With carefully composed images, dry humor, and stories that balance between the absurd and the touching.

Step inside, order a drink, and immerse yourself in this cinematic break full of style and imagination.

In this hands-on session, you'll work on printing unique designs on your own clothing items. We'll provide a selection of cool designs to choose from that align with the theme of our exhibition with a Concordia twist.

So be sure to bring a T-shirt, tote bag, blouse, or other textiles that you want to give a second life to, so you can showcase your one-of-a-kind clothing item!

Waiting boring? We'll make it fun!

While you are peacefully waiting in line for the silkscreen printing, we invite you to take a fresh look around you. The first one to fill a row wins not only a small surprise but also a new way of looking.

So grab a card, keep your eyes open, and join in, before you know it, it’s your turn, with your head full of new impressions.

    Tasting
    Times: ongoing | City Expo
This year the theme of Alifa's exhibition is going back to your roots. Food is an important part of that, come taste how different cultures flavor.

The exhibition shows what home looks like in different cultures, differences in kitchen, garden, or for example the toilet. During Museum Night, we will further bring this experience to life. Snacks and scents bring the stories to life and add an extra layer to the experience.

Let yourself be taken along, taste, look, and discover how versatile and personal the idea of home can be.

    Flash Tour
    Times: 19:30 - 19:45 (NL), 21:00 - 21:15 (City Expo), 22:00 - 22:15 (ENG)
Not enough time to see everything? We will take you on a flash tour through our exhibitions.

In a short time, we will tell you the highlights of our exhibitions. During the flash tour, you will receive surprising insights, sharp observations, and context that broaden your perspective. At a brisk pace, we will highlight different themes, artists, and viewpoints, so you will gain a rich understanding of the exhibitions in a short time. Expect no extensive analysis, but an inspiring series of moments inviting you to return later.

Join in, let yourself be surprised, and discover how much you can see in just a few minutes.

    Book Exchange
    Times: ongoing | Greenhouse
Give your old books new life by passing them along during our book exchange!

Finished a book, and ready for a new story? Bring it to Concordia and exchange it for a new story that speaks to you. During the book exchange, it’s not only about swapping books but also a chance to talk with other book lovers, share book tips, and give your read books a second life.

The book exchange aligns with the idea that stories create connections and continue to grow as they are passed on. So browse, discover, and let yourself be surprised — the next story is already waiting for you.

    Tinfoil Workshop
    Times: 19:00 - 20:30 & 21:30 - 23:30 | Small room
Nela Ervaar will give a workshop during Museum Night with a cinematic touch, focused on creating small sculptural beings using rapid, intuitive techniques, connected to our Wes Anderson theme at the Old Market. Participants will learn from Nela to build bodily forms from aluminum foil by cutting, folding, and shaping, resulting in unexpected figures.

    Oscar Rodenburg
    Times: 19:00 - 20:00, 20:45 - 21:45 & 22:30 - 23:30

This evening you will enjoy a beautiful performance by Oscar Rodenburg and Jesse Borkens!

Since the age of 9th year, Rodenburg has been performing, first with his parents, now with his own bands. His work is often interspersed with classical jazz and borders on the theatrical. Borkens also started making music at a young age and has a fondness for the '80s with her synthesizers and specific sound. Rodenburg and Borkens experiment with the edges where their musical interests overlap and invite you to dance along.
