He seeks to emphasize or enhance what is already present in order to influence and foreground our experience of space. By breaking through conditioned ways of looking, Vink aims to make people experience their surroundings in a different way.
This is also the starting point for a site-specific work in Exhibition Space 1. Peter’s work highlights both the art itself and the space around it. “My installations have an architectural character and often appear minimalist. Repetition and structure frequently dominate my work, regardless of scale.”
Building the exhibition
For four weeks, Peter Vink worked on his installation at Concordia. During this period, the space was open to the public, allowing visitors to closely follow the progress of the work. After the four weeks, the completed installation was officially opened and remained on view for another four weeks.
