  • Campy, black comedy from 1972, about drag queen Divine, who defends her title of 'filthiest person alive' against a couple. Shocking and taboo-breaking.

Sleaze queen Divine lives with her son Crackers and her mother Edie in a trailer. Proudly, they call themselves 'the most filthiest people alive'. But there is competition from the couple Raymond and Conny, who kidnap female hitchhikers to have them impregnated by their butler.

For his first feature film in color, American filmmaker John Waters brought together all the ingredients to shock his fellow countrymen. Waters himself says: 'Pink Flamingos was an antihippie movie made for hippies who would be punks in two years. It's a pothead movie. I wrote it on pot.'
