Sense and Sensibility

Sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood live in early 19th-century England. Following their father's death, they—along with their mother and youngest sister—are forced to leave their grand family estate. The family moves into a modest cottage on the property of a distant acquaintance. They attract plenty of attention from men in polite society; while Elinor tries to conceal her feelings, Marianne throws herself wholeheartedly into love.

The first film adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel, starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet, won an Oscar. This new, contemporary adaptation tells a witty and relatable story about relationships in which emotions often run high.
