With this hallucinatory meta-slasher, Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow) dives back into the dark corners of pop culture, desire, and self-image. A film that is both bloody, melancholic, and surprisingly poignant — as if a forgotten VHS tape suddenly starts to talk again.
