Due to the heatwave, we will be closed for the next couple of days at the Langestraat after 15:00. All films at the Oude Markt will go ahead as planned; it is wonderfully cool there!

Once a month, we show an outdoor movie in the courtyard of Craft District Enschede! This year we're going on a city trip; on July 8, we'll leave from Amsterdam, making our way through Tokyo, New York, and ending in Venice on September 1. So even for those staying at home, there will be plenty of the world to see this year!
For this stop, we return to Europe for a visit to the city of love in Jean-Pierre Jeunet's The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain. Start time: 15 Minutes after sunset.
The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain (2001) by Jean-Pierre Jeunet is a globally beloved French romantic comedy that has received numerous awards and nominations, becoming a modern classic.
In the colorful and fairytale-like Paris of Montmartre, shy waitress Amélie (Audrey Tautou) decides to change her life and quietly improve the happiness of those around her. She helps neighbors and strangers in her own imaginative ways, from a lost childhood memory to love seekers in the city, while cautiously taking the leap into love herself when she meets the mysterious Nino (Mathieu Kassovitz).
With its playful editing, visual inventions, and warm tone, Jeunet sketches an ideal, almost imaginary Paris where anything seems possible. Amélie has become a crowd favorite that won the hearts of millions of viewers.
