In the world of The Lobster, it is not allowed to live life as a single person. Singles are picked up and transported to the Hotel, where they have 40 days to find a partner. Single David (Colin Farrell) as a newcomer in the Hotel faces the rigid Management. Like every film by Lanthimos, this one is again a reflection on constructed communities and the strange social rules we adhere to.
