The Testament of Ann Lee captures both the ecstasy and the struggle of her utopian dream, featuring traditional Shaker song and dance, reimagined with enchanting choreography by Celia Rowlson-Hall (Vox Lux) and original music by Oscar winner Daniel Blumberg (The Brutalist).

     

    Mona Fastvold is the life partner of Brady Corbet, director of films such as The Brutalist. For years, they have been making films together. The Brutalist and Vox Lux were directed by Corbet, but they co-wrote the screenplays. The Testament of Ann Lee is directed by Fastvold; she co-wrote the screenplay with Corbet.
